Why! oh why! does a 6-12 m in one brand fit and not in another?

We hear you, Mummy's and Daddy's, as this has also been a frustration of ours, so we have given you as much information on our sizing as possible, we hope that this does not confuse you but make your purchase more informed, so that you can buy a garment that you know will fit your child! saving on disappointment and returns for your much loved purchase just because it doesn't fit!

Hopefully the following information will help you to get the size right for your purchase. The most common way to choose the correct size is to go by the child’s height. Please check the table below for general height and age suggestions.

The easiest way to judge the size is to measure the child (not always easy!), the measurement should be taken with the child standing up straight with feet together (no shoes) measuring from the top of the child’s head to the ground. Alternatively lay the baby on the floor and measure as accurately as possible from the top of the head to the heel.

Alternatively measure a garment already owned similar in style. Bearing in mind how the garment fits and whether you want them to ‘grow into it’ or to fit as the current garment fits.

Below is a rough guide as to the different brands that we stock and a measurement guide for some of their fitted garments. When measuring your child the waist measurement should be taken at the natural waist, the chest measurement should be taken under the arms at the fullest part of the chest. (Remember if measuring a garment already owned lay it on a flat surface and measure across the chest or waist and then double the measurement.) The sleeve measurement is taken from the end of the shoulder to the wrist.
