Massive attack of Mummy Guilt!
I remembered today a piece of advice my cousin gave me about starting my own business, ‘My advice would be to wait until they are both in full time school’, did I listen – hell no!
Having both of them off at the moment is extremely hard. I would love to not go to work and do something great with them, but like lots of other Mummies I can’t. I would love to be in a position where I didn’t have to work and that Little Bugs Boutique was more established, but we are not there yet and in the mean time working and getting paid has to be done alongside Little Bugs Boutique.
The holidays for lots of working parents are a juggling act of dropping off, picking up and relying on childcare from friends and family. It is hard to explain to a 5 year old that it’s just the way it has to be and it’s lovely that Charlie’s Mum doesn’t have to work and they are off to Chessington, but I am afraid that your Mummy can’t do that!
Dont get me wrong I love Little Bugs Boutique and what we have achieved but I do sometimes think on days like today, should I have listened to that advice?
What made my guilt worse today is that while I was checking my e-mails, Little Mr came and failing to shut the lid of my laptop, pulled the lead out and ran to hide it under his pillow!
Right tomorrow I have a day off! x
