We are proud to delivery Little Green Radicals…….

We are so proud to introduce and stock Little Green Radicals. We listened to the many of you that asked if we could do Organic clothing, and not wanting to steer away from our idea of being bright, funky and different…….and we found this great brand and here is their story…………………………………

Back in 2002 Nick had had enough of the rat race- the longs hours, the calls from the office at

the weekend, missing the family- and wanted to put his energy into an ethical business that he

could feel passionate about! And so Hug was born. Hug began life as an ethical clothing range

and was one of the first companies to produce Fairtrade certified clothing in the UK. From its

range of clothing evolved the brilliant Little Green Radicals range- organic, Fairtrade clothes

created specifically for free range babies and kids!

Nine years on…

Little Green Radicals has gone from strength to strength. Our range has grown from just a few

bestselling slogans tees and playsuits including Locally Produced, Free Range and Give Peas a

Chance to a complete collection. Customers still return time and time again for our classics that

make the perfect gifts but can now find beautiful dresses, bibs, bodies, sleeping bags and soft

toys for babies and gorgeous dresses, skirts, leggings and hoodies for kids! All made with the

very best quality, softest organic, Fairtrade cotton!

Why Organic Cotton?

The organic cotton we use means the farmers and their families don’t run the risk of bring

poisoned by nasty pesticides and our customers get clothes that won’t irritate the skin of their

little ones! In addition, the water used for dying our garments is treated and recycled and the

dyes are azo, formaldehyde and chlorine free!

Supporting Fairtrade since 2005

We’re proud to be pioneers in the Fairtrade field and the Fairtrade certified cotton we use in all

our products is really important to us. By choosing Fairtrade you’re helping small-scale cotton

farmers, their families and whole communities. Fairtrade improves lives by providing a

guaranteed fair price for the famers plus an additional social premium that is spent on essential

medical care and education for their families and the whole community!

Little Miss is loving her Black Harem Pants Molo

I always get Little Miss a few of my favourite items when we order our Molo collections, we don’t always have the same taste and as she is nearly 7 I am finding it harder to convince her to wear what I like!!!

I have got it right with these great pants phew, Little Miss loves them.

They are super soft and also are really thick so great for these cold months! Little Miss hates wearing anything other than leggings so these are a great alternative.

As harem style they have a drop crutch and then taper on the legs, the waist band is thick and looks great with a top tucked in or out.

They have massive pockets that go down the legs much to my daughter delight, they have been filled with acorns and other bits and bobs, so make sure you empty these before you stick them in the wash!

As ever Molo have their statement star on the leg making them look super cool.

They are a winner for us both and I would highly recommend them to any denim hating daughter.

The Essex Baby & Toddler Show-Post Show News

Phew we have just got home from Maldon and I must say my feet are throbbing and I can’t wait to hit the sack!!

I have to say I was a little worried about the turn out for this show; it was a little out the way so there was no passing traffic, also people don’t seem to be coming out to exhibitions quite as much these days, but all in all we had a successful day.

It was lovely to have so many positive views on our collections and from lots of grandparents too who were impressed that we had something different to offer. Our fashion show although hectic was definitely a good idea for the future, big thanks to all the parents and Kids who got involved!

I also love the shows to have a look at all the other interesting stands my favourites of the day are;

Tara Lee Photography, who had the most beautiful photography her books were amazing and was also a lovely person check her out at www.taraleephotgraphy.co.uk

And how is this for a fab idea, Love your Bum which is a formal Maternity Dress Hire service!!! None of us want to spend lots on maternity wear that we won’t wear for very long, but those occasions do come up where you need something nice rather than the trackie’s and vest tops that we wear the rest of the time. Check these ladies out at www.loveyourbump.co.uk

Our footwear fashion show partner was Angelico Bambino who sell my favourite shoes Pom Dapi and lots more, they really do stock the most gorgeous shoes and Tu Tu’s take a look at www.angelicobambino.co.uk  I am definitely bookmarking this one!!!

I also met the girls from www.justlearning.co.uk who made me feel a lot better about nursery care and how they would support Little Mr and children like him who struggle with speech; although they are a bit far from me I am confident that they provide a great nursery service.

We will definitely be visiting www.creepycrawlies.co.uk Soft Play for some fun great girls see you soon!

We will be back Essex xxx

My Obsession with Dungarees!!!

I think this started back in the early 90’s the days of Run DMC, Naf Naf, Big Trainers with stupidly big tongues, and braided hair!!!

I remember having the most beautiful Purple dungarees that I just loved, I wore them everywhere!

When little Miss was born I couldn’t wait to get her in to a pair, you can beat denim for a hard wearing fabric and when she was crawling dungarees were great.

So how could I resist buying this seasons Dungarees from Molo, the boys version which I have for little Mr available from 3m to 2yrs £40

and check these girls ones out the detailing is lovely with a very cute pink trim and the staple Molo star, these are also very soft denim.

Girls Available from 9m to 3yrs

Materials:  100% cotton

Washing instructions: Machine wash 40°

I am loving Pippo Shoes!

I just have to tell you about the most gorgeous boots I have received from Pippo shoes!!!

I really struggle with boys shoes? They are so boring a bit like most clothes (except at Little Bugs Boutique of course) but I came across this amazing brand Pippo and just had to get myself a few pairs for Little Mr. I am a big fan of desert boots at the moment and although these are not a true desert boot the style is close enough for me, they are made from both a canvas and leather outer, with a very cool stripe inner material. The detailing is great with a stripe of leather on the toe, which is well need with my clumsy boy!!

Check these out The General £44.99

As I loved these so much I have now also got the Major £49.99, which are light brown leather boots, with a really soft inner leather lining. Little Mr has quite a wide fit but both boots are lace up and getting them on and off has been done with ease, I love the branding on these boots both have the Pippo ‘P’ stamped onto the boots which again adds to the design.

I love the heavy stitching, the super grip soles, and the fact that they are so beautiful,  do boys shoes really have to be so ugly? Pippo has got these boots spot on.

I have lost more I like on their site but I am holding fire for the new Autumn Winter range which I have had a sneaky peek at and it is again full of great designs.

I would love to know what you think as we are thinking about stocking this brand, please check them out they also do lovely girls too http://www.pippofootwear.com/home

Help Dora Help

I jumped at the chance to tell you about Help Dora Help, this is a campaign developed by Nick jr and their education experts to bring Dora and her exploration life into nurseries and pre-schools across the UK in the form of a great free activity pack that aids and encourages pre-schoolers to problem solve use their imagination and develop the sense of adventure.

This activity pack is great Me and little Mr have had the opportunity to have a sneaky peak, and it is great educational but really fun, Dora being such a recognisable character in our house hold, really helped with keeping Little Mr engaged (for longer than normal at least)

This campaign also allows pre-schools and nurseries to apply for £20,000 grant to be used for educational and learning purposes! Wow that is a lot of money and I am sure would be amazing for the winner and the children for many years to come.

I have sent the application form to my pre-school and would encourage you all to do the same, you have got to be in it to win it, and all they have to do is apply!

Nurseries and pre-schools can apply for the free Help Dora Help Activity Pack and Award Fund at www.nickjr.co.uk.

What is it with Boys and Guns?

What is this thing with Boys and Guns?

Little Mr is two and a half, for you all they don’t know he does not talk yet, we are getting there but what he does do is a lot of noises and is very animated in his way he is extremely funny!

About 6 months ago he started making this sound it is a noise that we have all tried to imitate but cant but it sounds like an automatic gun, we were puzzled and could not work out where he had got this from, my mind flashed back to about a year before when I found Victor playing on his PS3 (which I hate, another story I think)  it was one of those army games and while Little Mr was playing in the same room we had some very strong words and this has never been played again while the kids are around, but thinking of this moment again the noise that Little Mr had mastered was just the same! Victor swears it can’t have been that but I am not so sure. Apart from that Little Mr does not get exposed to guns, programs that have guns etc so why oh why does he loves making this noise, and also he turns everything into a gun shape, a stick, Lego, he even found a small piece of plastic pipe and in no time at all he was aiming and imitating a gun noise.

It puzzles me how boys just seem to play in this way, a lot of my friends have said that ‘oh its just boys’ but why? Having little Miss who is 6 and now Little Mr I have really seen the difference in how they play and what they play with. Little Miss will sit for ages drawing or making, her attention to detail has always impressed me, little mr on the other hand will come and scribble usually on my table or chair rather than the paper and then be off on to something else, he loves dinosaurs she loves dolls, he loves monsters she loves fairys you get my drift.

I don’t feel that we have pushed these things on to our children and having both boys and girls toys in the house the choices have been there and Little Mr just seems to choose to play with the ‘boyish toys’

I would love to hear your comments and how you would tackle the gun thing , and should I anyway? Is this ok? I don’t want to encourage play with guns but he is just playing and just two? Feel free to comment it would be great to hear from you.
